Why Another Instructor's Organization?
The PKIA was born out of a need for a real support system for kiteboarding schools in America. It's important that good quality instruction is readily available and that the schools and instructors are licensed, certified and insured because if not, then our beloved sport is at risk of losing beach access. We are here to help you "get legit!"

Since PKIA is founded and operated by active kiteboarding school operators and instructors, we understand inside and out the needs of our membership. We know that teaching kiteboarding is more a labor of love than a way to get rich, and so it is our goal to keep membership and benefits affordable.

We have indentified a deep need for quality instructor training programs that are accessible throughout the USA. PKIA is positioned to provide exactly that. We have assembled a team of America's most talented and experienced kiteboarding instructors to be PKIA Clinic Leaders and Examiners. Our training programs will be open to all advanced level riders. Following the training, trainees can choose whether or not to take a certification exam. The standard for a Professional Level PKIA Certification will be quite high so that kiteschools who hire a PKIA Certified Instructor can trust that the instructor will be good for their business!
